Rarity

Full personality description:

You have a knack for drama and overexaggerating things, as well as doing whatever you can to keep from getting your hooves dirty. But, putting that aside, you're also very self-conscious about yourself, are generally very polite (unless someone deserves a little of your attitude), and have impecable manners and sense of style.

Just because you delight in being the center of everyone's attention doesn't mean you give no attention in turn. You're incredibly generous, showering your friends with gifts, spending time with them and doing fun things like shopping and makeovers, and doing everything in your power to help elevate your friends' self-worth. Even though a friend may be more popular than you, you are still willing to help them out with their success, hoping that you'll get your piece of the pie in turn.

You have a tendency to be overly obsessive over small details, sometimes worrying too much about them rather than looking at the whole picture. Your attention to detail does come in handy at times, though. You also loooooove fashion, style, and looking as good as any pony can be! Whatever it takes to look as classy and elegant as possible — that's your motto, because you care how other ponies see you, and want to make sure that your impression is the one that stands out the most.

I definitely do not care or know anything about fashion. I wish I had a more polished look sometimes, but most times I don't care. I don't wear makeup, I rarely put in my contacts now, I'm fine going out with wet hair or my hair in a ponytail... I like wearing some clothes that's classy and elegant, like my national costume but mostly I'm casual. But I am self-conscious of my look, too... I suppose I don't care enough to change/try...

Also, wanting to stand out and center of attention? I hate when attention is focused on me unless I'm actively seeking it out and then it's in a small group of people. I hate public speaking!

As for drama, it sometimes happens. Right now it's thankfully simmered off.

Someone else said I'm more like Twilight Sparkle. My chart shows I'm close to it...

The meme:

Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions

1. Do you have a favorite moment with your grandparent(s) that you'd like to share?
My mother was raised by her aunt and her aunt's brother/blood uncle. This was because her aunt wanted to raise children so much so several of her siblings "offered" her one child for her to raise. My mom did grow up meeting her biological mom, but she also has three "brothers" (biological cousins from separate families). It wasn't until I was suppose to make a family tree in 1st or 2nd grade that I learned about this; I thought they were blood.

I don't know my grandparents that well, there are languages barriers. But my great-uncle and I had a close relationship, despite the language barrier. Sometimes he'd buy ice cream in the flavor I like. In their old house in the countryside - they have geese, chickens and used to have cows - there's also a swing out front. Once we just sat there and swung gently around. I don't remember what we were eating but we were sharing a snack together. It was quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend his funeral because we were overseas at the time.

2. What is your preferred comfort food?
My preferred comfort food... Well, here it's fruit roll-ups, strawberry! But usually it's junk food of some sort. Snickers, Cheetos, Sour Patch Kids, Kit Kat, etc... If I was home with my mom, her sambal ikan bilis (chillied anchovies) are definitely a favorite dish of mine. I eat it with rice or in a sandwich.

3. What was your favorite picture book growing up?
I don't think I really remember a favorite picture book growing up. I don't remember my parents reading to me. We had a lot of Peter and Jane books growing up but I remember reading them to myself.

4. In addition to panthers, what other wild animals do you admire, if at all?
Owls, though I don't know a lot about them! I find them fascinating. I think I prefer animals I associate with darkness or night-time.

5. If you could meet any poet, dead or alive, for dinner - whom would you invite?
John Donne! I read a lot of his poems back in my last high school. While conversation may be a little hard in terms of types of English we each speak, I find his poetical twists really intriguing and, well, smart. One day the English teacher wasn't there and the class broke out into a divided discussion of what Donne meant in "The Flea." It'd also be interesting to consider what kind of dinner we'd both find appetizing...

What Planet Are You From?

You Are From Mercury

You are talkative, clever, and knowledgeable - and it shows.

You check in with your friends as often as possible!

You're witty, expressive, and aware of everything going on around you.

You love learning, playing, and taking in all of what life has to offer.

Be careful not to talk your friends' ears off. Temper your need to know everything.

Well, Gemini is aligned with Mercury. They ask what sign you are, too... :S I can be talkative. Clever in some things. Knowledgeable in a small scope and breadth. As for checking in with friends... I go in waves regarding that. I can be expressive. Sometimes I do the whole "I expect you to read my mind" thing with Matt but other times I'm quite blunt with people. My humor is more sarcastic or self-deprecating or goofy than witty, I think. Awareness of everything going on around me... I can be oblivious or unobservant for some things (like street names and signs) but other times I can notice things others don't notice or remember. Playing! That's fun. :P Learning, yes, though it sometimes depends on what it is and what setting. Again with the talkativeness - I am totally that way if I'm comfortable with someone. :D

What's Your Personality Archetype?

You Are the Liberator

You are an expansive and open-minded person. Most importantly, you are open to the idea that you are wrong.

You believe in freedom from rules, expectations, burdens, and responsibilities. You value independence.

You are adventurous and hedonistic. You live for new experiences and tastes.

You go in whichever direction is pulling you at the moment. You follow your dreams.

Liberator... When I think of that I think of Paul Revere or people who are willing to go to war for a value or a bigger-than-me ideal which I don't think I am... I can be open-minded but it really depends on what we're arguing over. There are things I am not likely to change my mind about. Openness to being wrong - again, it depends on who and what this is. In a recent fight/spat I admitted I was wrong in what I did and said, and over-reactive. But it doesn't necessarily mean I'll admit to others when I'm wrong even if I admit it to myself, which can be quite a lacking trait. For all I do value independence I am sucking at this self-sufficiency expectation I have for myself... Adventurous. Holy cow, no. Occasionally I am spontaneous or restless and want to do something new but I do like a plan for the most part and I am perfectly happy reading a book or watching something interesting. I've no choice but to live with new experiences. And my life is whatever direction life gives me. Having to choose what to do and where to stay is scary.

Happy? Really? I can be, sometimes. You know, when I'm not apathetic or depressed. :P I used to be happy as a kid, to the point that yellow was my favorite color because it was so cheerful. And my mom told me a few years ago she missed seeing me as the happy kid I was when I was younger.

Genuine - I don't think my level of "genuineness" is as high as others.

Passionate - well, obviously about the things I am passionate about. Or people. But I don't think I'm passionate for a lot of things or I don't seek them out as avidly as I could.

Thoughtful - I can be sometimes, but a lot of times I mis-step.

The last time I did this meme was a few years ago but still a Friday in September. As close to anniversaries as possible! Rewind and I hope some answers have changed. FYI/warning: this meme asks about memories, relationships (past and current), friends, daily life, interests among other stuff.

Meme, take two! )

I don't have interest in finishing this Ergo Proxy 1 Disc from Netflix. I really, really should. A llot of my downloadable library items will expire tomorrow and there's no way I can finish listening to (several) of them in time.

Darn.

Color quiz

you are darkslateblue
#483D8B

Your dominant hue is blue, making you a good friend who people love and trust. You're good in social situations and want to fit in. Just be careful not to compromise who you are to make them happy.

Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.

Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. You are flexible and see things objectively.
the spacefem.com html color quiz

This was ganked from [livejournal.com profile] unico_love. I like blue... The list of words was very hard to pick because I can be very loud, and other times I can be very shy and quiet...  I am not good in social situations unless it's a small group of people I already know. But I do, sometimes, want to fit in, or at least not be thought of as the sad loner. (Someone told me at Matt's brother's party in June that he noticed I didn't talk to anybody and I was all alone and that that was depressing. :S Gee, thanks. That just made me more socially anxious. Figures he was a journalism major and liked talking to random strangers.)

Yeah, I'm not very decisive. Sometimes when I'm stuck between two items I buy both... (If they're cheap enough.) Pfft. If the world could change enough to let me have a job and stay in the US indefinitely, that'd be fantastic! Silly visa laws...  I'm not so sure about the flexibilty and seeing things objectively... Obviously it's easier to see a situation I'm outside of objectively. Though sometimes after a fight I can see the person's perspective. That can be good - I understand where they're coming from - or bad - I see what I did wrong and I beat myself up with guilt.
